Celebrate culture and diversity at the City of Grande Prairie’s Heritage Day event Saturday, August 3rd from noon to 5pm at the Grande Prairie Museum.
Admission is free.
This year’s event features:
Community and cultural booths.
Old fashioned games and carnival games with prizes, including can toss, shooting gallery and top taffel.
Drumming circle performance from a local Indigenous group.
HAM (amateur) radio demonstrations. HAM radios were used as a communication tool back in the 20th century for people to talk across the world before cell phones were created.
Interactive demonstrations including ropemaking, old fashioned bingo, a blacksmith and laundry.
Food trucks with cultural food dishes.
